Friday Fill-ins #178

And...here we go!

1. Hotdogs and clubhouse sandwiches -- best food to take on a picnic.
2. Summer is about to end -- finally!!!!.
3. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE flip flops.
4. To love someone can sometimes be an uphill battle with yummy treats along the way.
5. Willi Revillame should take a long...longgg...longggg hike away from TV land.
6. When I crave food, it's usually chocolates, ice cream or cakes.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to going on a date with hubby (not sure where though - where our feet takes us!), tomorrow my plans include baby's school enrollment and a lot of preparing for the next busy week ahead, and Sunday, I want to sleeeeeeppppp!

Happy weekend!! :)

choice versus necessity

Has it really come to this.

Overheard in the news that an OFW would rather stay in Thailand despite the political tensions there than to go back to the Philippines.

This brings about a very sad realization that Filipino's these times NEED to go overseas to earn a decent living as opposed to what then was just an attempt to make things life a little bit easier and more comfortable.

Once a choice, now a necessity. Sad truth!

PHOTOHUNT 211: BLACK

This is my black entry for now. One of my most favorite Filipino food -- Dinuguan (porks blood stew). Have to say the yummiest dinuguan I've tasted so far I found in Kanin Club. Spells Y-U-M!!

kanin club on 011010

Celebrated my 100th birthday (stopped counting already hehehe) at The Kanin Club at Westgate Alabang with the family. I just love this place, big servings, good food and the choices are just YUM!!

Tinapa Rice (P150 - less)

Binukadkad ng Tilapia (P250 or less)

Ginataang Sigarilyas (did not get the chance to see the price)

Crispy Dinuguan (P250 - less) - MY FAVORITE!!!!!

We also had plain rice (P28 i think) and sinigang na liempo (P300+). Food is just super good. Come in early though. There are no reservations and the place can become crowded and waiting lists are a headache. They are just open from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and again in the afternoon.

Friday Fill-Ins -- sooo last year - literally

This is soooo last year. The Christmas festivities just got the best of me so this has been sitting in the drafts section since...ahm..last year (seems to long ago). Its just tooo nice of a "Friday Fill-In" to pass so here goes...

1. Good times: Weekend lunches with the whole family enjoying the same food everytime which includes inihaw na liempo, fried chicken wings, kinilaw na tanigue and tinolang talakitok for the oldies.

2. I am going to miss my home. :((

3. Sleigh bells ring, are you listening? hehehe

4. Wish my ipod could support the whole surprise shower party we prepped considering its sooo little.

5. Once more, I am faced with a new Christmas nearing and gifts not complete (this sentence was like done for me already hahaha).

6. When will these busy days end? (drama!! haha)

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to watching dvds til I doze off, tomorrow my plans include buying stuff for my kids Christmas party and program and Sunday, I want to clean the whole house up, go to church and maybe finish up on my Christmas shopping!

a little too late..

WELCOME 2010!!

Sorry if greetings came in a little too late this year. Got hooked doing all sorts of stuff for Christmas and New Years and some occasions in between. It was a pretty hectic Christmas holiday for me and my daughter.

And so with this greeting, let me just share one of New Year's message I read from Facebook which could be a nice New Year's resolution for you guys too.

"I will seek elegance rather than luxury, refinement rather than fashion. I will seek to be worthy more than respectable, wealthy and not rich. I will think quietly, talk gently, and act frankly. I will listen to stars and birds, babes and sages, with an open heart. I will bear all things cheerfully and do all things bravely."

A HAPPY 2010 TO US ALL!!!

cherry blossom jigsaw puzzle

Just finished putting up together 1000 pieces of jigsaw puzzle that we bought as a souvenir, which I thought was gonna take forevah to finish. I too shocked myself when I finished it in just a month and a half.

So fulfilling making and finishing this one. It just sends me a great deal of completeness and closure (WOW! ;p)

It just makes me so happy to see it as one big picture now.

Just have to get used to seeing doubles from now on (nadokleng na...hahahaha)

Next step, framing. Good luck to me :)
